I am certainly middle class. I was delighted to learn from the random bloke that that means I am a nob, which was one of my childhood ambitions.

He's obviously angling for a tip. Here you are, my good man, and don't spend it all on drink.somerandombloke wrote:Delighted to be of service old chap.

Such generalisations about any group of people are quite ridiculous!

It's what made the Empire great!!!Pally wrote:Such generalisations about any group of people are quite ridiculous!

The Gurkhas certainly made a major contribution to The Empire.
They certainly knew what loyalty was.

If Robin is middle class, then I must be working class. Robin has bucket loads more class than me.
I don't know any Latin.
Oh, someone's left a bowl of soup. Mmm, nice, if a little salty.

Empire great? How exactly are generalisations made on this thread linked to that? Avoidance of any reasonable explanation and answers to Lee.a questions seem to come in many guises!! As Lee said, the answer was Déjà vu!

They have two tiny tables by the counter. Personally I'm not sure I'd fancy sitting there but each to their own.maestro wrote:Himalayan Kitchen is excellent and it's NOT just takeaway only. It's takeaway only but superb.
Great food, regardless of size. Shame they can't find bigger premises.

Not at all, Lee. You're an artist. Arts transcends the vulgar class system. Were Homer, Virgil, Dante, Michelangelo, Shakespeare and Beethoven working class or middle class? Meaningless question, surely.leenewham wrote:If Robin is middle class, then I must be working class. Robin has bucket loads more class than me.
Re: Good old Gurkhas
Yup - I agree that class is a completely meaningless classification. Daft!
Re: Good old Gurkhas
Working Class 'cos their work was making stuff to be enjoyed by others and their income (afaik) came from that work. Without them the world would be a poorer place. Now what did the Middle Class ever do for us?Robin Orton wrote:Were Homer, Virgil, Dante, Michelangelo, Shakespeare and Beethoven working class or middle class?
More than the Upper Class is an insufficient answer

That is so silly somerandombloke
We all breath the same air, bleed the same colour, and arrive and leave this world the same way, so at the end of the day we are all equal in my eyes.
Happy Monday all
