Was on the 1834 today and saw an LO train with 2 or 3 people on it and its doors open - the destination board on the back of the train said "Dalston Junction" - whether the people on the train were just rail employees I do not know.

I do not usually agree with strikes to public services (such as trains, tubes etc). However, I do have a lot of sympathy for the posties. We must not forget that when they return to work, they have double the amount to do on the same pay! When tube drivers return to work, it is business as usual ...

Thanks Nasaroc. This does of course cast doubt on Southern's promises not to discontinue the LB - Victoria loop too, but let's reserve judgment (and our wrath) for the meeting.

Very sorry your wife and child were subjected to such abuse. Do not forget thanks to Anthony Blair they have human rights. I assume they are paying for their drink with public money. No wonder our welfare system is the laughing stock of the world you really have no idea what you are talking about ...

Loads in Mayow Park in the afternoon - go toward the trees on the North East side of the park near the multicoloured flats. Also, the Longton side of Sydenham Wells Park harbours a load of them - parakeets - not Aussies.

I agree with mummycat. Musti's "pound shop plus" is more of a general store and is by far the most useful shop on the high street (in my opinion). Pound shop is a misnomer for this place as many of the items are over a pound (for those with mouse problems, I recommend the mouse glue at £2). I once ...

Not sure that would work - because the ultimate arbiter of the construction of the conditions of carriage will be the courts (I think?! - if not then ignore the rest of this post). For it to get that far, Bensonby would have get shopped and then plead not guilty. I bet that a magistrate would ...

"Newlands Park woman on indecency charge" Have you got her number? Cheers. This omic gem seems to have passed people by so I bring it again to everyone's attention by way of public service. On Data Protection, the council were quite right in not releasing the data - such data would be personal data ...

I think it is unfair to blame the Sydsoc "dogooders" and in particular Nasaroc for the destruction of the trees. Their campaigning was in respect of the fate of the gate which you admit was a convenience for you and your fellow neighbours - not a campaign to kill the trees. It is unfortunate that ...

Interesting point about autism. I actually heard a discussion as I was walking through to platform 1 this morning between what I assume was the manager and the person who operates the gate. The manager said something along the lines of "he/she needs to be let through - he/she's autistic" which ...

This is going to sound terribly un PC but there are an awful lot of bull terriers owned by, what one might term, "hoodies" hanging around Sydenham station unmuzzled and without a lead. I make no apology for jumping to the conclusion that increasing numbers of these dogs must be being bought for ...

"Nobody can help you, we're short staffed" I am in absolutely no doubt that the above will become an oft heard phrase by those who need to use the call facility if that is the way we go. However, devil's advocate, if we have one of those oyster card gates (like the ones at London Bridge), aren't ...
