Re: Southeastern trains to Lewisham, Cannon St ending
As of today, there is no direct train from Lower Sydenham to either New Cross / Waldron Health Centre or Cannon Street. Anyone who works in the City now faces a 50% longer journey (from the 24 minute trip from Lower Sydenham to Cannon Street to now a c.36 minute trip according to The Trainline) - so ...

Re: Southeastern trains to Lewisham, Cannon St ending
Would they be comfortable in having a discussion on how they approached this? I’m certain there isn’t widespread support for removing these services, which will inevitably add commute times.

Re: Southeastern trains to Lewisham, Cannon St ending
As I feared. If people want to preserve a commuter service into the City on the Hayes line I think we need to get onto Southeastern urgently

Re: Southeastern trains to Lewisham, Cannon St ending
Short update as I haven’t received a reply to my letter to Southeastern so will follow up this week.

Southeastern trains to Lewisham, Cannon St ending
I have been informed by someone within Southeastern that plans are afoot to end the Southeastern Hayes service to Lewisham, St John’s, New Cross and Cannon Street at the end of the year. These trains are the main commuter trains from Lower Sydenham and the main way for commuters in Lower Sydenham to ...

I live in this area, and your principles seem fair. I’d like to see more made of Southend Park which is a lovely space

Squatters at Lewisham Bowls Centre
I contacted Lewisham Council this morning as the car park of Lewisham Indoor Bowls Centre at Lower Sydenham station has been taken over by squatters: several caravans and tonnes of rubbish (old mattresses etc).
Re: Budgens
Obviously apart from feeling sad for the staff my main upset is that the Amazon locker in that store was so convenient.

Re: Sydenham vs Forest Hill
I used to rent in Forest Hill, and bought just over 3 years ago in Lower Sydenham, paying about £50k more for a 3 bed house than I would have paid for a 1 bed flat in FH. There was no competition. Forest Hill is pleasant, but Sydenham has more going on - if I'm at home in the week it's a pleasure ...

Sydenham in the news
Last night's BBC London had a feature on the Daniel Morgan murder at the Golden Lion pub, calling it one of Britain's most notorious unsolved crimes. Lots of footage of the pub and the high street. Apparently there is going to be a podcast series about the murder to raise its profile and hopefully ...
Re: Mopeds
Apologies, I forgot to add: please if anyone does see any dangerous riding - such as speeding through red lights, riding towards people on the pavement etc. please consider calling the police on the 101 number. The more information the police have, the better able they will be to identify times ...
Re: Mopeds
Hi, Quick update: I have spoken to the police twice and provided some of the registrations of quad bikes and mopeds I've seen rising dangerously in Sainsbury's car park - speeding and doing wheelies while elderly people are trying to cross into the shop. I do feel the behaviour is crossing the line ...
Re: Mopeds
Thanks - yes, the noise is annoying but not breaking any laws. However, I've seen several of the mopeds do not have number plates and the riders are not wearing helmets but balaclavas. Also, quad bikes are usually not licensed for on-road use. I'm concerned by the speed and dangerousness of some of ...

Re: Fly tipping along the high street
Kangley Bridge Road is terrible for fly tipping, especially the Bromley end of the road by the business park. I saw a man fall over a huge pile of builders rubble left on the pavement, smashed up his phone and left him covered in cuts. Walking to Lower Sydenham in the mornings can be like ...
Mopeds
Hi all, This is my first post on the forum, although I've visited for information many times since I moved to SE26 in 2012. Unfortunately this is not a happy post. I live in Lower Sydenham and recently I have noticed a huge number of teenagers on mopeds and even quad bikes around Sainsbury's, on ...
