Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?
My God!!! I despair with this forum. We wait bloody years to get the pub up and running and before it opens people are already picking holes before EVEN GOING THERE!!!!!!!! It’s enough to put the new owners and any others off investing in the area! Let’s just go there and enjoy...if it’s crap then yo ...

I wish people would stop blaming council incompetence, lack of vision etc. on lack of funding. They seem to have had lots of time to spend on the Greyhound, Nandos and other things so I fail to see why someone would not simply have picked up a phone or written to the prospective tenants to advise ...

Is there a tentative date yet? How can a business not have a target date for opening? I presume they must have a business plan which acccounts for such things as costs over time in a vacant site as well as contracts with suppliers and opening in the right trading period to maximise income in the ...

Re: A Sydenham traders association
Why is it that all our Estate Agents (We have more than anywhere else in such a small area) don’t get together and start the base for a Traders association. They’re all making money, and the better the area looks the better they will do. It’s about time they gave something back to the area that is pr ...

I can picture it now...nice piece of grey or black slate. Stilton, Stinking Bishop and a few others. Some lovely Spanish meats, Quince paste and some grapes or ripe figs. Forget the crackers and give me a bit of crusty artisan baguette with a large glass of Red. I also like the idea of pairing ...

Re: old budgens
Most of the supermarkets one way or another offer the same brands albeit at different offer prices. Some have a smattering if their own meals but none offer the M&S Fresh foods. That’s why M&S would be a good choice as it’s different and very popular. It doesn’t really compete for the same customers. ...

Re: Litter on the streets of Sydenham
I thought we were talking about littering not land fill which is a separate argument. Dropping litter is all down to the person doing it. Nothing else. 1. Put it in a bin 2. Drop it on the pavement The type of litter whether biodegradeable or not is not the issue as far as dropping it in the street ...

Re: Litter on the streets of Sydenham
Oh for goodness sake stop always picking on McDs etc. It’s the people dropping the litter not the paper bags jumping out of innocent hands on to the ground. Grow up and accept responsibility for your actions I say. We seem now to have a culture that blames everyone else, especially those that don’t m ...
