Re: Bonfires in back gardens.
What were they burning? If it was plastic it's a definite cause for complaint according to the Lewisham website. Otherwise lewisham are apparently very laid back about bonfires. I checked up on this when a neighbour was slowly building a pile of garden waste to rival the Crystal Palace bonfire ...

The tyre place and the shops at Bell Green are open all the time and busy, whatever they look like.

Re: Bob Wines
Popped in after work last night and was recommended a good Merlot to go with the Chinese spiced pork dish my girlfriend was making for tea, went great and couldn't help but pick up a few continental beers for good measure.

Re: Water Leak - Perry Rise - Road Closed
Yes it's lovely living on Champion Rd at the moment, especially when trying to park or pull out of a parking space, not a lot of consideration from people who have been rerouted. Mind you, they are the same drivers who come down Perry Rise and block the junction with Adamsrill Rd rather than let the ...

Re: Sydenham vs Forest Hill
I also fully agree with the views of others that it's worth getting the property you like and can afford nearby and enjoy all the benefits of both areas, which are mostly a walk from each other. Forest Hill does have the clear edge over Sydenham, but Sydenham has been dragged up by its boot straps ...

Re: Bollards
Finally! This has been my bug bear ever since moving to Sydenham! Nigel, whereabouts were you thinking of specifically? I haven't lived round here long - coming up to 3 months - but I've done a fair old bit of tramping the streets in that time, what with nursery drop-offs to Bell Green and commutes ...

Re: Cat owners urged to keep them indoors
Heard about this 2 weeks ago from some friends who live in South Norwood. They've been keeping their cat in at night since this started happening.
Hope the person is caught who's doing this!

Re: Can anybody recommend an estate agent?
We've just had a day of estate agents! Many thanks to those who gave feedback. We've actually been quite (pleasantly) surprised by the valuations - anybody who recommended Property World, Mann and Stanford Estates - they all seemed very knowledgeable, friendly etc but do you think they over priced ...

Can anybody recommend an estate agent?
we are thinking of selling our flat, can anybody recommend any estate agents (or can anybody definitely not recommend any estate agents!)?
Our neighbour recently sold her flat with Robinson Jackson and seemed very happy with their service, has anybody else used them?

Re: Cryptic message on Twitter re Late Knights/Beer Rebellio
Myself and my girlfriend enjoyed some lovely beers there last night and I ended up having a quick chat to G-Man at the bar on the merits of the Black IPA, which is great, but has a kick like a mule!

Fear not, it's becoming a pub, to the rather good Late Knights brewery (fingers crossed next week).

Re: Cryptic message on Twitter re Late Knights
This is great news, even better as I won't have to cross the main road to get there from Champion Rd. Always useful if I've enjoyed their ales a bit too much!

Accident this morning by Bell Green
My girlfriend and myself were heading to Lower Sydenham station around 9am this morning and saw down the road to the junction near Bell Green, what looked to be a couple of ambulances, police and a fire engine with lights flashing attending a car crash. The accident looked like it was involving a ...

Re: Beer rebellion
It is understandable regarding noise, why the council has disallowed seating at the front, but fingers crossed they will still go ahead.
Their pub in Gypsy Hill is very small, although they do have 4 chairs out the front (practically on the street). It would be such a shame if this puts them off!

Re: Lewisham Planning
This partly explains why when I rang the noise team several times and emailed them last week for advice about our neighbours building work I received no reply. I imagine all calls now go through to an answering machine in a locked room in a basement at the council buildings, good job it wasn't an ...

My girlfriend and myself popped by the Beer Rebellion in Gypsy Hill and enjoyed their Peckham Rye IPA and wondered what was happening with all the talk about Late Knights coming to Lower Sydenham. Fingers crossed for a speedy planning approval and a decent brewery coming to ...
