SAVE THE SPHINXES IN CRYSTAL PALACE PARK

Post by leenewham »

Here is the info:
Sunday, November 18, 2012
11:00am until 2:00pm
Crystal Palace Park, meet at Crystal Palace Museum.
Come and join us in saving the sphinxes. The two nearest to Crystal Palace Museum are completely overground with green growth that is starting to grow through cracks. The area needs to be made safe and green growth cleared before the Sphinxes are restored. They are are some of the last remaining parts of the Crystal Palace that once towered over our skyline and an important part of our heritage. Please come along and let friends and family know. This will be the first session of many over the next few months. This first session is unfortunately NOT suitable for children. Young people over the age of 16 are welcome as long as parents take responsibility for them. Please bring warm clothes, garden gloves and tools such as secateurs and shears.

I did Tweet Richard Branson recently about re-building the whole of The Crystal Palace as it was at the time of the exhibition.
Sadly I didn't get an answer, but I will keep tweeting!
Can you imagine how many tourists and revenue that would bring to th local shops etc if it was re- built!
