Cottage of Content

In[another thread] Falkor mentions the pub that was where Hensford Gardens now is. It went by the delightful name of The Cottage of Content, and was opened in 1855. Here it is, from the foot of Mill Gardens, during demolition in about 1962:

I remember the Cottage of Content. Opposite there was a small wall in front of what must have been the chapel. A policeman caught my mate and I teasing passers by with a parcel on a piece of string on the wall. When they went to pick it up we yanked it.
