Hello!
Please make a date in the diary for 3rd October, next week (already!) to go around the corner to Forest hill as I'll be performing animal-themed jazz for Dr Had's Jazz, to join in with the global celebrations for World Animal Day, and raise funds for Dr Hadwen Trust, the UK's leading non-animal medical research charity.
It's at Canvas & Cream, the still new but very successful art gallery/restaurant at 18 London Rd with a community feel- it's full of upcycled corners and sold its entire first collection to the Saatchi gallery and yet it's not pretentious. There are artists studios and therapy rooms at the back during the day. It's opposite the train station so very handy for those of us in Sydenham!
The mayor of Lewisham will be there to open the event, as well as the beautiful animal artwork of Martin Aveling and Donya Coward. I've booked jazzers Christian Vaughan and Dave Chamberlain on piano/bass, and there will be vegan animal-themed cocktails flowing, vegan bar, and vegan bar snacks-
Tickets are available online from http:/www.hadwenjazz.eventbrite.com
