Grow your own Sydenham food

Post by admin »

Just in from Lewisham Council ...

Bid for funding to grow your own food

Residents and community groups in Lewisham still have time to apply for funding to help create a community garden by transforming a derelict area into a space that can be used for growing food.

Lewisham’s target of 60 new projects has already been exceeded which shows that Lewisham residents have an interest and a passion for growing, and for community spirit. Anyone still wanting to set up a project can with this additional funding.

Round 1 is open for applications until 13 January 2012. Applications can be made for up to £750 to help start a new project or support an existing one. To be eligible, projects need to support the scheme’s goal of encouraging people to work together to grow food for the benefit of the community.
