Steve (Arbuckle) Bullock is coming on September 11th at the Parish Eucharist to present the Eco-Congregation Award to our church.
We are only the 204th in the country, the third in Southwark diocese, to receive this award.
I hope he doesn't eat all the food otherwise we will never get him out the door.
MAYOR VISITS ST BARTS CHURCH - must be free food there!

Which Mayor please.
I hope you mean Boris and not the MOL.

He means the Mayor of Lewisham I believe - for whom he appears to harbour a fattist agenda.Eagle wrote:Which Mayor please.

Hardly a major occasion when the MOL turns up to one of the oldest churches in his domain. Surely he is supposed to do this whether pies suppied or not.
I am not sure how obese or otherwise out good mayor is but although I agree far to many obese people in the borough , not sure of its relevance here.
Perhaps he should pray for smaller portions and less take away junk food shops.
Not sure if the PC brigade will agree that any Christian event should be honoured by the borough.

I would be thinking he is just rewarding people for doing good things. The reason they do it is up to them. If the Druids had created Traidcraft I doubt any PC person would object too violently of the secular promotion of ethically produced food & drink.Eagle wrote:Not sure if the PC brigade will agree that any Christian event should be honoured by the borough.
But I don't think Traidcraft do pies ...

Do you actually have a serious criticism of Sir Steve? If so, I'd love to hear it. In any case, this repeated nonsense isn't exactly very Christian - and nor would it be approved of by any other religion I know of.Okepinay wrote:He is coming on September 11th at the Parish Eucharist to present the Eco-Congregation Award to our church.

Why not tell us why you got your eco-congregation award as well!
