Hi
I am starting the process of selling/buying a house and wondered if anyone can recommend a good and reasonable priced solicitor?
Many thanks in advance
Susie
Solicitor recommendations
Re: Solicitor recommendations
Sorry Susie. There used to be a really good one in Forest Hill, but he's retired. I can tell you some to avoid, but best not on a public site! (If you'd like to PM me I'll tell you.)
Heard a good one in a movie the other night. Danny de Vito: "What do you call 500 lawyers under the sea?"
Answer: "A good start".

Re: Solicitor recommendations
I'd highly recommend Amphlett Lissimore in Crystal Palace. They do fixed rates also. I found them to be really well organised, efficient and crucially, available to speak to when necessary.
Good luck with the move!

Yes please, will also be good to know who to avoid, having had bad experiences in the past, I don't want history repeating itself! Thanks
And thank you randomv, I will give them a call to get a quote!

Susie:
I've been trying to send you a PM, but can't get it to leave my Outbox.
Please can you try to PM me and then I might be able to send it as a reply?
Thanks

Re: Solicitor recommendations
Mary - the PM is not stuck in the Outbox. It stays there until the recipient opens it. then it is moved to 'sent'. Hence you know if a PM has been read or not.
Yep - please be careful of questioning professional competence. The really guilty lawyer may well be the quickest to get a letter to us ... tell us who is good and let silence be an indicator of your unappreciation.
Mind you if their premises look naff - no problem mentioning that

Re: Solicitor recommendations
Thanks for explaining the PM system to me, Admin. I think you're doing the community a great service here, BTW.
