I guess some of you will be interested in the new Google Satellite images. They've just been updated and the images were taken during the early summer drought of 2010.
This dry period led to areas of grassland dying back at varying rates depending on what was underneath. Often what can be seen is the outline of lost buildings where the wall & foundations are just under the grass.
There's an excellent example in Crystal Palace Park [link]. It shows, what I believe, is layout of the old cricket pavilion. Confusingly some sports pitches have just been set out on the Cricket Pitch

Thanks for pointing this out. The squarish building on the right with horizontal lines (dwarf walls?) across is in the position of the pavillion shown on the 1894 map; the one to its left is the new larger pavillion on the 1933 map.
