thanks to the girls at the bus stop for helping me out. one of them went out of her way to find out where the place was.
it was great to experience people helping out just because.

Aww that's nice. I had a similar positive experience this morning when my car broke down this morning in Bromley. I didnt have my mobile phone and a passerby stopped to help and to lend me his.
Also, last week at work, a cleaner who does an excellent job / is totally reliable was mugged – she’d just got her rent money out of a cashpoint and they took her bag with that, her passport, cards, keys – the whole shebang. She was really shaken up and had to take a bit of time off of work to get everything sorted out. The building Manager emailed all the tenants to let them know what had happened, and encouraged them to do a whip round for her – ‘she looks after us all very well, so let’s look after her’ type of thing.
Incredibly they gave £897 – one tenant was so moved he gave £500!!
She was totally overwhelmed by this amazing gesture and had to be persuaded to accept the money. The day after, she came in early and put a handwritten note and a bowl of sweets in every tea point to thank them all.
