What to do to entertain?
What to do to entertain?
I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions for the 'perfect' evening out for some friends that are visiting me from out of the country. I'm thinking they enjoy music, theater, entertainment the most. But what type of program would you put together so they could see the best of the town and enjoy it all?
Oooh, I dunno, the Sydenham Society e-newsletter is always a good source of entertainment if you're lucky enough to receive it.
This Sunday there's Burn's night at the Dolphin, and following that (confusingly) Burn's night at the Dulwich Woodhouse on the 26th (its Club 26 for those of you keeping up).
Make your friends wear tartan- surely all tourists want to wear tartan.
Or is that just me??

I had friends come down for the 2nd time, (yearly trip) for 24hrs ( god love GNER £20 from Leeds), so i can understand the pressure of showing people around.
The first time, last year , We walked around Soho, berwick market, then covent garden, they loved that as a band struck up as we arrived, a restaurant that just happened to be brilliant ( one of aldo Zilli's) then we went to the theatre, I'd booked this beforehand, the only planning i did, i was so lucky.
Oh no i'd also booked Jamie Olivers "15" ( we're all foodies) and they completely loved that. And it was brilliant, then i poured them back on the train.
This year I apparently "exceeded myself", jesus god only knows what i'm going to do next year, I'm not telling you this years as i think i might write a book! ( PM, if your really stuck) Although i will need help with my grammer, for the book not the next trip !.After all there from Yorkshire, but luckily they didn't wear tartan.
ther ages are from 38 to a very young and daft 69 year old, so it's not going to appeal to the youth but hope this helps.
