Fire in De Frene Road
The South London Press reports:
"A FORMER big band singer who once dated Bruce Forsyth died in a fire at her home yesterday [01/08/05].
The blaze started in the hallway of 77-year-old Irene Wilson's two-storey house in De Frene Road, Sydenham at around 5am.
Firefighters rescued her from the ground floor, where she normally slept, but she died shortly afterwards.
Miss Wilson had lived there since 1933. Cops are investigating the cause of the blaze because traces of a flammable sub-stance were discovered, although this does not have to mean it was suspicious."
