I was walking down Fairlawn park and was struck by the sheer amount of dog poo up and down this street. It was revolting particularly as I could not get the dog mess off my shoes so I was probably responsible for spreading it down the street even more - sorry folks if you happened to tread into it too.
I instantly thought of little children dragging the dog poo home on their little shoes and jumping up and down their sofas and beds at home without taking off their shoes - poo-ee! A great way to spread disease.
Dog owners who don't take responsiblity to pick up their dogs mess clearly don't take any notice of warnings or fines. They just don't care. So isn't there a way these residential roads can be made a dog free zone - although it would be preferable to force them to move closer to park areas where their dogs can poo to their delight without impinging on the health and safety of people living in densley populated areas like Sydenham. Funny thing is, there is a park just behind this street but I don't think these dog owners have clocked onto this yet!!
Dog Mess throughout Fairlawn Park
As a responsable owner of three dogs, who sometimes walks them through Fairlawn Park on the way back from Home Park, I have noticed that there is lot of dog shit on the street there. While I understand your frustration, banning residents from owning dogs is probably unworkable legally so you cant really make it a dog free zone. You would be better off talking to your neighbourhood watch people and your CSOs and try and get some evidence (photographic or otherwise) so that people can be prosecuted.
Also, people should clean up after their dogs in the park as well, I do.
You can report people who don't, but whenever I see people letting their dogs shit anywhere public I offer them one of my dog poo bags. I often have rows with them buit hopefully it makes them think a bit.

Except there are plenty of people who live near parks and use them regularly who also don't own dogs so why should we also have to put with dog shit everywhere? Only yesterday some community spirited weasel allowed their dog to crap all over the pavement outside my house and just left it there for people to spread up and down the road.
Yes Simon, I agree that the vast majority of dog owners are indeed responsible and I imagine do take care of the mess after their dogs. But it only takes one irresponsible and selfish dog owner who can't be bothered to pick up their dogs poo to create the view that slurs the image of the vast majority. A particular problem is that residents don't feel able to intervene if a dog is left to mess on the streets for fear of any repercussion to them by the 'offending' person. IN the meantime, Fairlawn park continues to have loads of pungent dog poo all over its pavements (how come these dogs never poo over the drains but in front of someones front garden????).
If you look at the rest of that person's posts, it's clearly just a very bored person trying to wind people up.Eagle wrote:The last post has left me speechless.
If is it a joke not sure it is funny
If serious then one of the most anti social postings I have ever seen. I better not say anymore
