Sad Goodbye to the Newsagents on Kirkdale

The newsagents and previous post office on Kirkdale opposite the piano shop closed today. After the post office in their was closed Raj the owner couldn't justify working such long hours for such little business. This is a really sad end to not only his business but also a little hub of the community. Raj would sing, gossip and generally add good cheer to many peoples day and it's really sad to see him go. I, for one left there today with a tear in my eye.

You don't know what you've got until it's gone....

Exceptional guy. We've helped each other out with odd things over the years, and it is a great loss. I always enjoyed (found it funny, at least) his singing, the cricket commentary on the radio and general chit-chat and gossip.

I wish him well with his business and personal ventures in the future.
