The Beast Of Sydenham - Big Black Cat
All of us Sydenham residents must remember the big cat of Sydenham from last year, when a man off Silverdale was attacked in his back garden when calling his cat.
I live on Silverdale and assumed that all this must have been a joke or a mistake...I assumed that because it had been dark that the man must have been mistaken.
However, listen to this podcast....
http://www.channel4radio.com/4radioplay ... temId=1858
It describes how these big cats DO exist in London and how they use railway tracks as their own "motorways" to get around. The railway runs right behind the blokes house that was attacked.
There have been several sightings of black cats in Sydenham...they think the Sydenham cat has moved house and upgraded to Eltham...LOL

There's a big cat in Bexley as well, I lived in Bexleyheath for a while and it was sposed to be quite nearby!
Now I live in Sydenham that has a big cat - must say I've never seen it, but if it prowls train tracks I'd best be careful as it runs along the back of my building and there's a big expanse of communal garden - with no fence!!!

This story always generates mirth, but I can asure you there are more about than you'd think.
In this part of Wiltshire sightings of them are regular, I have seen one close up myself at 3 in the afternoon, I actually went up to the blooming thing as it was having a pee thinking it was my employers Labrador got out into the field.
They are only the size of a medium Lab, but the colour of them is different as their coats look blacker, due to being less gloosy than the average Black Lab; they also carry their tail like a cat when running, sloping down , rather than up like a dog.
The dogs at this place used to bring home regularly bits of deer kill, and believe me a fat black Lab can`t catch a deer, but a big black cat will stash its kill to return to it.
As long as there are small game about, deer, etc they keep well out of the way, although one around here likes to steal koi carp.
Most folk down here know where they hang out, but keep shtum, they do no harm.

Hmmm, it looks like the Sydenham Park Pink Panther may have used the railway networks a bit more than suspected...

Hi, if you have any 'big cat' sightings locally, or come across evidence please report them to me. I'm a full-time researcher into the sightings, and wold love to hear from believers, witnesses and sveptics alike regarding the sightings around south-east London and maybe I can shed some light as to what's really being sighted around the town.
Thanks
