Cherish Day Nursery is a well-established, Ofsted ‘Good’ registered nursery offering the highest quality of childcare within a caring, safe and stimulating environment. Cherish Day Nursery operates in a self-contained building, benefiting from exclusive use, located within a larger complex of a private, community building. There are parking spaces available and right of use for the purposes of dropping off and pick up. We are conveniently located close to a rail station (5 minutes walk) and we are on a good bus route too to ensure ease in getting to and from work.

The Role – Duties and Responsibilities
• To provide the highest standards of quality care and education to include working within the framework of the Early Years Foundation Stage, Statutory Framework, the Nursery’s Policies and Procedures and current legislation relating to childcare.
• Prepare and maintain appropriate children’s records, observations and learning journeys and a system of planning, in a timely manner, for individual needs and next steps.
• To implement and evaluate a plan of suitable experiences and activities for the children in your care, providing a safe and stimulating environment for the children to develop.
• Fulfill key person responsibilities whilst ensuring other room members fulfill theirs.
• Encourage other members of staff to work as part of a team by using initiative, sharing information and being flexible as well as promoting and fostering a group identity.
• To work in close partnership and to develop and maintain good relationships with parents / carers and other family members.
• Participate in both internal and external training as well as staff and parent meetings to develop own practice and improve outcomes for the nursery and the children in our care
• To organise room meetings to ensure good team motivation, information sharing and planning.
• Ensure room and equipment is kept safe, clean, tidy and presentable at all times and complete daily risk assessment.
• To be flexible within working practices of nursery. Be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain domestic jobs within the nursery (e.g. preparation of snacks, equipment cleansing and launder baby sheets).
The Person - Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum of NVQ level 3 qualified or equivalent nursery qualification
• Experience as a Baby Room Leader
• A wealth of experience working with children from 6 months to 5 years old.
• Calm approach
• First Aid
• Basic Food Hygiene
• Basic health and safety/safeguarding
• Passionate, creative, fun, imaginative and deliver exceptional care to all our children.
The Package
• Annual salary negotiable dependant on experience/skill set
• 21 days holiday allowance plus bank holidays
• Training paid for by company
• Monday to Friday opening hours 8am to 6pm (shifts: 8am-5pm, 9am – 6pm)
