Thinking of buying a property here but concerned as I know nothing about it and I have some reservations of living on an estate. Anyone know what it's like? It seems a bit isolated from schools and amenities etc

The Hillcrest estate is mainly Hyde Housing Association properties. A good primary school is at the other end of Sydenham Hill, Eliot Bank and Kingsdale Foundation School by Sydenham Hill station is rapidly improving secondary school.

Hillcrest was previously the sidings for the London to Crystal Palace High Level line, which ran through the middle of it. Two tunnels at either end of the estate, one which has thousands of bats are interesting landmarks. Wells Park is also very close and is a lovely park.
