What a depressing thought.

More cars on our crowded streets.

Boycott IKEA because they are corporate scum who built their business off of the back of prisoners.

Their furniture is utter crap.

True their history a bit dubious.

Also hate their stores . You cannot get out without going all round their endless displays. Only been once never again. Only so many Swedish meatballs you can consume.

Also prefer my furniture to be in one piece. Seems old fashioned I know , but maybe its time will come again....

Oh my god! I agree with Eagle! My idea of hell would be trapped in ikea in perpetuity, going round and round, never being able to find the way to the market and exit.

I have only ventured into IKEA once, never again, it's a bit like going into Aunty Wainwrights! Never to be seen again.

Yes Annie.

Only thing worth going for is the Swedish meatballs.

If I want furniture I want in in ONE PIECE.

Don't know about Ikea's business practices much - very few angels out there when all is said and done - but in our home we have a number of Billy bookcases that have done us proud. Over 25 years service and they have survived a number of moves.

Very reasonably priced in 1985 or so when we bought them - and still looking good now. And very solid.

I stand by my Billies and won't have a word said against them. In fact passionate about my Billies.

Oh yes, our Billies, absolutely, they've done us proud too. As have our most stylish 17p cream coloured plates, with their stunning truly architectural matching mugs, the state of the art matt metal kitchen hooks, all sets of wine glasses to die for, the vibrant designer pasta bowls... oh I could go on. And on....

No you're right I couldn't... it has to be said, the place completely does my head in! Just to think of it gives me a nervous tick and my partner develops a persistent migraine.

But....... their kitchens, for example, have been voted by Which as Best Value category. And my truffle coloured designer dishes are so worth the pain, I tell you. (Plus the Billies, of course )

There are only 2 good things about Ikea

1. The meatballs

2. The fun you can have trying to pronounce the sames of the items/furniture.
(Which reminds me of the Ikea or Cheese? Quiz http://mentalfloss.com/quizzes/14109 )

Most of my furniture comes from Ikea so I can never quite understand why people dislike it so much (other than the shopping experience).
But I've never had the meatballs.

You flatter me. The only similarity between my house and a ski lodge is being perched on the top of a mountain.

You say that like it’s a bad thing. Are you perhaps unaware than ‘Mid-century vintage’ is all the rage in interiors right now? I was watching North By Northwest at the weekend and positively lusting after the villian’s lodge on Mount Rushmore.
