On the surface this profoundly personal and award-winning documentary from actor/director Sarah Polley explores her search for her biological father. But it quickly reveals itself to be a powerful investigation of the nature of identity, truth and perception.
Exploring this and other family secrets through a series of interviews, Oscar-nominated Polley interrogates a cast of characters of varying reliability, eliciting refreshingly candid, yet mostly contradictory, answers to the same questions.
Stories We Tell was shortlisted for the 2013 Oscar for Best Documentary and won countless awards. Don’t miss this opportunity to watch one of the most creative documentaries of recent years. And don't just take our word for it. It went down pretty well with the professionals too!
★★★★★ ‘[A] tender, painful, intimate film’ Peter Bradshaw, THE GUARDIAN
★★★★★ ‘Her movies ache with ethical quandary; Stories We Tell aches the most.’ Joshua Rothkopf, TIME OUT
★★★★ ‘Heart- tweaking, brain-teasing and hugely enjoyable, Polley’s tangled memoir confirms her as an unflinching anatomist of secrets and lies.’ Kevin Harley, TOTAL FILM
★★★★ ‘Sarah Polley’s remarkable Stories We Tell transcends every cliche in this confessional/investigatory genre, and it’s one of the year’s highlights.’ Michael Phillips, CHICAGO TRIBUNE
‘Stories We Tell, uniquely, reveals its process as if we are thinking, sifting and selecting along with the filmmaker.’ Sophie Mayer, SIGHT AND SOUND film of the week

Many thanks to all involved and I highly recommend getting involved if haven't already and have an interest in watching decent movies
