Yes, we live in a [nice*] modern age. Yes, we can shop online, etc ... But wouldn't you love to have a walk down some of those streets. There seems to be something strangely cosy about the fully-covered paths from the shop covers.

The Pavement, Lewisham, is the most fascinating for me, as my great, great Grandfather was given a shop there in the 1870's. He was the Black-Sheep of the family, and was bankrupt by 1874!
