Forest Hill Fashion Week starts today

Hi All

How to Recycle Your Wardrobe
1pm - 2pm @ Sugar Mountain, 57A Dartmouth Rd
Workshop led by Denise Birch to teach you imaginative ways to upgrade your wardrobe on a budget.

Ups and Downs of Modelling
6.30pm - 7.30pm @ Forest Hill Pools, Dartmouth Rd
Workshop led by ex-Storm models offering advice on staying fit, healthy & sane in the pressurised world of fashion. Suitable for Over 16s.

All You Knit is LOVE
4pm - 5.30pm @ Marie's Boutique, 73 Dartmouth Rd
Beginner knitting workshop by Kareem Short of Golden Silk. Knit your own heart shaped coaster/wall hanging. £2 donation. Ages 11-18.
Ex-Sydenham student Kareem Short of Golden Silk guides you through a beginners knitting class. Learn basic skills to create a pretty knitted heart to use as a coaster/wall hanging.

African Plaited Necklace Workshop
5.30pm - 7pm @ Marie's Boutique, 73 Dartmouth Rd
Create a stunning fabric necklace using African prints, embellishment and found materials. £2 donation. Open to ALL.
Local teacher Karen Arthur of Reddskinbags helps you to create a plaited necklace using African print fabrics, embellishment and found materials. All ages, all levels welcome.

Walk Tall! Posture Clinic
6.30pm - 7.30pm @ Forest Hill Pools, Dartmouth Rd
Do you know you can add inches to your height and look slimmer by standing up straight? Workshop led by fitness instructor Justin to help you straighten out your kinks.

The Benefits & Pitfalls of Running a Fashion Pop Up Shop
7.30pm - 9.30pm @ Forest Hill Pools, Dartmouth Rd
A panel of speakers from SEE3's fashion pop up shops and Louise Brooks who masterminded the initiative. The fashion brands will be speaking about how they have developed their businesses, and the part that having a pop up shop has played. Come along to Forest Hill Pools to put your questions to them, and to Louise who can advise on how to set up a pop up shop.
This event is for anyone looking to start their own fashion business or open a pop up shop to promote their business or experience having a high street presence.

Come to Syd’s Vintage to be styled by resident expert in vintage glam Clair Bonnie and the team. There will also be 10% off all purchases made on the night and refreshments for all visitors.

Bracelet Making Workshop

After school workshop for children aged 5-11.

Raclette Night at Aga's Little Cafe
From 7.30pm @ Aga's Little Cafe, 161 Kirkdale
Following the success of their pop up restaurant on Valentine's night, Aga's Little Cafe are following up with another pop up in celebration of Forest Hill Fashion Week. This time its raclette!
Ogleshield cheese sizzled, melted and scraped onto boiled new potato, home cured pork and freshly baked bread; served with salad and gerkins, pickles, mustard and chutney. Followed by a shot of chilli and lime vodka!
£20/person plus drinks. Red and white wine will be available to buy, along with ale and beer from the Kernel Brewery.

Kids Fashion Catwalk, Competition, Entertainment & Workshops
3.30pm - 5.45pm @ Forest Hill Pools, Dartmouth Road
Mini-Fashionistas of Forest Hill are invited to take to the catwalk for a parade of your own fashion creations. Design your own clothes or assemble your own outfit from your own (or your mum's) wardrobe. Judged by local designers: prizes for best outfit in Under7s, 7-10, 11-16. Assemble at 4pm, catwalk at 4.30pm, prizes at 5.30pm. Sponsored by Sugar Mountain & Gems Performing Arts.
Donald Waugh of Bugsy Malone fame (Snake Eyes) will also be hosting a workshop. Details to follow.

Went a couple of weeks back, stuffed with lovely food, drink and a lovely little atmosphere.
