Bonza recital at Grove Centre Church this evening

Just got home in an elevated mood after a great guitar (Steven Joseph) and violin (Nadine Nagen) recital in aid of AmaZonArt (as advertised in the latest SydSoc newsletter). I've always been a bit sniffy about classical guitar, but I was converted this evening - hearing it live made all the difference. A subtle, understated, thrillingly precarious sound, with an amazing range of dynamics and tone colour, in pieces by Walton and Albeniz. The solo violin pieces were ones I knew quite well from CDs (unaccompanied Bach), but, again, hearing them live made them twice as exciting.

Apparently more recitals are planned at the Grove Centre. Don't miss them!
