I think you are thinking back to the pre-Murdoch days when they banned chippies from serving stuff in re-cycled and slightly soiled News of the Screws. May be not healthy but more entertaining.

Re: Old optician/On the Hoof
Does anyone know the latest on this application please? I think it would be a lovely new addition to the high street, in what is currently an empty shop… The service at the train station is always very pleasant and so a thumbs up from me if this works out…. Oh and I do like their logo (rather traditional but cool all the same)….

Hi I spoke to lady in Syd station again this week. They are still planning bistro but in process of obtaining licence for alcohol.
We also chatted about Syd stn on the hoof. I think it's a shame that the new barrier layout made the coffee outlet move their door to platform side. The new station plaza would have been great with outside tables etc, especially at weekends and market dates. Thumbs down to southern or whoever owns the station these days.

Hi all - is anyone aware of the latest with this? I was in the station version of the coffee shop recently, and the lady at the counter didn't know…. but I have a feeling that someone on this forum will?
