As the high street seems to be taking a one step forward, sone step back one step back one step forward approach I thought I'd give a bit of a positive steer on things.
Sugahill, one of the best coffee who in Sydenham (who do amazing hot chocolate) has refreshed their shop front. It looks much better.
Hopefully some other shops will follow their lead. It does make a difference and I applaud them for doing a really good job.

Here here.
I think Namaste should also be commended. Surrounded by grubby looking shops their's is a beacon. It looks clean and fresh and the inside is fantastic. So many of the shops could learn from them.

Yes I noticed yesterday how much more inviting it looked. But, as I'm completely unobservant in these things I didn't know why! I especially liked the white table in the window.

I totally agree with Namaste, it looks great.
It's such a shame that so many other business don't have pride in their appearance or want to win trade.

Re: SUGAHILL
It would be an interesting case study to find out if their trade has gone up since the revamp. Although the takeaway always looked better than the rest.

Re: SUGAHILL
Just tried Sugahill. No croissants or pastries on a Sunday morning! I would have thought that an integral part of a 'good coffee shop'. Time to get 'On the Hoof' onto the High Street.

But their hot chocolate and paninis are the best I've had anywhere.
