I thought I'd pass on an update from Lewisham on phone boxes on the High Street:
The box by the railway bridge (276) has been removed.
The box outside the café (south side of Sydenham Road), near the railway bridge, is to be retained.
The box outside the Post Office should have been removed.
The box outside the CO-OP will be relocated to suit the installation of a tree pit and we await UKPN to disconnect the existing. Planning approval was required for its relocation.
The box at 73 Sydenham Road (outside Superdrug on the north side of Sydenham Road) should have been removed.
Unfortunately the two by Property World are staying because the council have been informed that they are "commercially very viable". I'm guessing the revenue is for the advertising space rather than phone calls...

Re: Phone Boxes
I'd been wondering what was happening/supposed to happen to them - thanks for the update.
Re: Phone Boxes
Agree, good stuff Jonathan.
Re: Phone Boxes
We have new rubbish bins in the high street I've noticed... Expected better recycling facilities... Ahh dear, Lewisham.
