Parent and baby/ Toddler groups Mon-Fri?

Post by plureb »

Hi all,
I have really struggled to piece together and remember all the info that I have seen in various places for local parent and child groups Monday-Friday. I thought it would be really helpful for me and others in the area to have all suggestions in one place so here goes (I can only help with 2)...

Mon -
Tues - Nursery Rhyme singing group at Lower Sydenham Library, 10.15am, FREE
Wed -
Thurs - PeckhamPlex cinema, parent and baby (under 1) viewings, 11.30am term time only, £4.99 inc refreshments
Fri -

Please fill in the blanks and feel free to add any groups that you find and if possible with location and cost to help others.
I wanted to try the following groups so don't know if others can help with the following?

Cherry & Ice - Are they doing play groups or was this just talk?
Alexandra Nursery (near Penge East station) - What time, day and cost is this group?
Forest Hill Pools - Do they do a baby swim here?
Thanks
Hannah

I spoke to the manager of cherries & ice today and they are planning to re fit the back of the coffee shop for next year to include more seating, space for buggies, and a soft play area for kids. They are already very child friendly so will be an even better place for mums to hang out after the refurb :)

That's a coincidence Shakila - I have just this minute arrived home and came to write that I passed by C and I and William still seems very genuinely keen. Mollie and I went to meet with him a few weeks ago and made a cast iron case ( :) )for the refurbishment of the back area, which is huge. The problem seems to be money but he is clearly enthusiastic - I told him he would make a fortune what with also many people coming in with hungry toddlers and harassed parents who don't have time to have meals themselves at home. I also told him we would probably be able to find Forum helpers to set it up, myself included.

Hi,

just a quick update to say that I am no longer doing sessions at the Cherry Pie & Flash Trash Pop-up Shop (was on one of your lists). BUT I have now started a new 'Sing A Story' group at Aga's Little Cafe on Kirkdale on Fridays. Sessions start 9.30 and cost £2.50. The timing is just after the school run and makes a nice tide you over for either going on to Holy Trinity playgroup or TNG soft play....

Kind regards and hope to see some of you there,
Shinta
