Kite flying over Sydenham

Anyone notice the black and white kite which has been flying over Sydenham since last night?

Yes, me! Thought I was seeing things as it was quite difficult to make it out. Glad I'm not the only one. Any ideas why, who etc?

I spoke to a man in the park early evening who said it was his. It flew out of his hand yesterday afternoon. He didn't seem concerned at all. To me it looks so high that it could be a danger to helicopters. As black clouds flew across the Sydenhams skyline I could trace it back to where it was caught in a tree on Tannsfeld Road. I found the tree and informed the owner and highlighted the helicopter factor.

I looked out around 20 minutes ago and couldn't see it so hopefully he's climbed up his tree and pulled it down. But it is dark.
