Hi Sami - thanks for hitting up the forum...we don't need a specialist goalkeeper per se but you are more than welcome to come and join us on Wednesday nights at 8.30 (Goals North Beckenham). We don't play competitively, more of a social thing, really.
We tend to take it in turns in goal, during a game - more for a breather than anything else - but if you're any good, you'll prove to be very popular.

Thanks for replying so quickly and for being so welcoming! I wouldn't say I was a specialist keeper, I'm just resigned to that position due to injury!

I'd absolutely love to come along - unfortunately I can't make tomorrow but I can definitely do next Wednesday!

Is the venue near to a station?

You might find your best bet though, is to just head to Sydenham and one of the guys will pick you up from the station. We're a friendly bunch and if you need a lift, just post and someone will swing by. I normally head back that way after a game to drop off JimJeroo and Middlesborough, so can do the return leg at least.

One other quick thing...a few of us have been talking about a Wednesday night social; probably at the end of the next 7-a-side cycle in 6 weeks time and some ideas have been bandied about: karting, rooftop bar crawl, some form of urban golf and I wondered what everyone's thoughts are?.

Any preferences or alternative suggestions, please let me know.

I'd be quite happy with a local pub crawl: Dolphin, Golden Lion, Bridge House Tavern, Dulwich Woodhouse... Or maybe a couple of beers and meal somewhere in Sydenham - I enjoyed the curry a couple of years ago.
