I see another planning application is in to turn 242 Kirkdale into an all-night chicken shop. Oh joy - that'll go just beautifully with Zanzibar.
Please check out this link and write your objections - apathy on these issues ends up with licences being granted!

All night chicken shop planning application
Re: All night chicken shop planning application
After reading the planning files it appears to me that the Takeaway will close at 10.00pm mondays to saturday and 9.30pm on sundays and bank Holidays.
Re: All night chicken shop planning application
It's probably for the users of the new Youth centre.

Re: All night chicken shop planning application
This should be strongly opposed. Its already been dismissed once for change of use. There are enough of these already we need these units for proper retail and a more diverse offer in the high street. Plenty of other people would love to take this shop over.
Re: All night chicken shop planning application
There seems to be no doubt that poultry shops lower the tone of the area.
What has happened about people cooking their own bird.
Not sure about how it ties in with the noisy Tanzania . I have 100% sympathy that this establishment should close latest 11pm.

Is the best way to oppose using the comments box?
If so there have been none so far. I suggest people start commenting. I will do later this afternoon, if this is the best way.

Re: All night chicken shop planning application
Can I recommend that anybody commenting on the case asks for the appendices of the planning statement to be made available on-line.
It is also worth raising the issue of where the delivery bike will be stored (not in the 30 minute bays). Does anybody know if they would be allowed to park a motorbike on the pavement there or whether it would cause an obstruction?
Are there really two 30 minute bays there (not on StreetView and I haven't been there in person recently)?
It was only the issues of parking that got an identical application rejected last year, which is why I raise this as a key issue.
Beyond this reference should be made to STC5:

Since take away food is A5 not A2 or A3, policy STC5a should be enough to have it rejected. I would assume that the Sydenham Society are objecting to this application, but it might be worth somebody checking with them.STC 5: Major and District Centres - Non Core Shopping Areas
Within the Non Core Shopping Areas, as listed below (Table STC 1), proposals for development or change of use from an A1 shop will generally be acceptable provided:
(a) it is to an A2, A3, community use or amusement centre;
(b) it does not harm the amenity of adjoining properties;
(c) it does not harm the retail character, attractiveness, vitality and viability of the Shopping Centre including unreasonably reducing the percentage of A1 units.
