Different strokes for different folks. It's a proper boozer, it's always been a good laugh there - no airs or graces, no Shakespeare plays, no overpriced food, just a boozer. What you see is what you get. I like the place, I think they've done a good job. I'm not fussed about real ales... if they had them I'd drink them but lager or Guinness works for me.
It's turned into more of a sports bar with 2 big flat screens in each bar. It'll save me the grief of having to go to Croydon.
I still call it the Railway though but then again I still call Iceland Bejams and still pronounce Nestle Nessels.

Re: The Railway Pub
I hope to go there for Villa v Bradford on Tuesday night. I'll post my thoughts after that.
Re: The Railway Pub
I don't have a problem with a pub not offering real ale - that's the choice of the business, just as it's the choice of the customer not to drink in such an establishment.
What I do object to is a pub winning planning consent to install new signage on its exterior promising "real ales" or "cask conditioned ales" and then not offering them. I hope it's just a temporary omission, but if not then it's a case of misrepresentation.
