For my 2p's worth I can only echo what others have said before. A certain degree of anonymity can provide security online. When it comes to a forum such as this where the regulars can be easily trusted I'm happy to sign off with my real name. I suppose I chose to use oin as it is an old habit now (from back in the days where games only allowed you to enter 3 letters). I feel it is my real name even if it is slightly obfuscated.

It's interesting to consider that this may lessen the value of my posts. I wouldn't necessarily make that call myself but I can easily see why others would.

i like to keep my name secret on forums as im quite commited to providing the tax payer snippets of info regarding the fire and rescue service ..i know better men that have had a reduction in rank and two that have been witch hunted and sacked for dissiminating info..cheers
