Re: 5-a-side footie
5 already, plus Al comitting from last week - good news. Worth considering the 7s for next week?

5-a-side footie
Early responses needed if we're going to do that... Would be good if we could.Joe Pineapples wrote:5 already, plus Al comitting from last week - good news. Worth considering the 7s for next week?
Incidentally, I'm hoping that Phil (new player last night) will come along again, but he can only play every other week.
Re Christmas social, Nigel suggested Fri 30 November in central London. Sounds good to me, although TBH I'd be happy with a curry at Gurkha's and then some beers at the Dolphin. Any more thoughts?
Re: 5-a-side footie
Would be good to secure a 7s - seems such a time ago we would regularly flaunt our tekkers on the bigger pitch.
IN for the 14th.

Re: 5-a-side footie
Try and get the 7's Pitch!!!
I'm bringing two people so far....
Richard (brother)
Dave (mate)
This makes us 10 so far.....I'll see if i can grab another 2 people to bring it to 12, this way 7's is perfect...and even if 4 more did come, even better?
GAFFER sort it out and let us know what pitch we have
Regarding the night out, i personally cant do the 30th but a wednesday sounds good to me

I make it 10 already...
Re: 5-a-side footie
Guys,
I asked about a larger pitch last week and one wasn't available for tomorrow night so we are stuck with smaller pitches for a little while. I will ask tomorrow when one is next available.
If necessary are we willing to tweak the time a bit?

Re: 5-a-side footie
I've just spoken to Goals and it will be a minimum of seven weeks before we can get a bigger pitch as both are on bulk bookings (1 is 2 weeks into a 9-week booking and the other is 9 weeks into a 29-week booking).
I have asked if we can have first refusal if one of them downgrades or cancels one week.

Re: 5-a-side footie
Cant wait! BRING THE BIBS!!!
Re: 5-a-side footie
who's got the bibs?
Re: 5-a-side footie
He's only doing it again. I know I have form for this and I hate myself for doing it but I am crying off. I just will not be back in time. Looking at numbers this might help with 5s but I hope it doesn't kibosh a 7s game!

5-a-side footie
In for next Wednesday (football) and the following Wednesday (Christmas social in the City).
Swartie is sorting out a venue/pub crawl for the social, but we'll probably need to book somewhere if we're going to eat, so please post your availability as soon as you can. All players, past and present, very welcome. It would be good to see some of the players who have retired.

Re: 5-a-side footie
Like Lem, in for the next two weeks.
Nige - don't want to interfere in the managerial process but the starting sides have been a bit lop-sided the last few weeks. A suggestion: the way Swartie and I used to pick teams when I was running things was to assign each player a score (between 1 and 3) and the trick was to end up with the same total for each team. Requires a bit of tinkering and some forward planning but might make a difference, especially when we have equal numbers.

Gents,
In for next week and the Social
Re: the social, Date of Wednesday 28th November has been set, we can eat at this place anytime between 6-10pm on the night, they dont take reservations you just turn up, it's steak and chips about £21ph:
http://www.relaisdevenise.com/city/findus.htm
Not sure what time we want to get things started? I finish work about 6pm so I'm happy to start then
Suggest The Counting House to meet
http://www.citypubs.co.uk/pubs/thecountinghouse.html
Can then move onto Leadenhall Market, or The Folly followed by Steak and Chips at La Relais de Venise... followed by more beer and possibly a trip to Babble City Bar/Club
Cheers all
Phil
