When is FH pool opening?
When is FH pool opening?
Is it September? There are so many workmen on site, such a busy site, surely it''s earlier. Anyone in the know as there isn't a date on the council website yet.
Re: When is FH pool opening?
July, according to Fusion who will be running it. Let's hope they keep it cleaner than The Bridge.

Re: When is FH pool opening?
I am so looking forward to it opening! Planning to have a swim before work a few days a week...
Re: When is FH pool opening?
Absolutely! I walk past it most days and it looks amazing. My expectations are high! So yes, they better keep it cleaner than the Bridge, that place is plainly unloved by the Management.
Re: When is FH pool opening?
The latest date I've heard is 1st July but it could be a bit later. Certainly July, in time for school holidays, which is excellent.
Re: When is FH pool opening?

Re: When is FH pool opening?
Two campaigns - "No demolition without Design" and "Keep Swimming in Forest Hill" secured a new two-pool facility with, at least a nod to retaining the Victorian facade of the oldest pools in London, when demolition of the lot and a one-pool modern shed was offered as the only alternative.
Congratulations to the two campaigns led tirelessly by Tim Walder and his cohorts. And thank you to Lewisham Council who listened to the arguments.
We now have a facility to be proud of which will, we can hope, last as long as the 1884 built pools and will help regenerate Forest Hill, and Dartmouth Road, in particular. An acceptance of Heritage (some hoped for more, others didn't understand the arguments) with 21st century facilities is something that the commuinities of both Sydenham and Forest Hill should be proud to have played a part in achieving. A win-win all round for council and community alike.
Let's see what happens next to Englsh Grade 2 listed Louise House (c/o efforts by Tim Walder) - let's all keep an open mind...

The regeneration fo Dartmouth Road is well underway, some really exciting businesses have been opening there of late. On top of that, they actually look great too, inside and out.
