Gorgeous new garden centre in Parish Lane

Post by chrism »

A stunning new garden centre opened this past weekend in the Alexandra Cottages area in Parish Lane. It's really charming and not only does it sell plants, it also has a shop with vintage homes and gardening items, lovely gifts AND a small cafe with outdoor seating serving proper coffee and homemade cakes.

It's exactly the kind of place Sydenham and Penge needs. The lovely owners John and Sarah moved here from South West London - I urge you all to swing by and support this fantastic new business.

Christina
PS- I have photos but can't for the life of me figure out how to upload them.

Sounds lovely. Is there parking around there? Which part of Parish Lane is it on?

It's by the railway bridge (Penge East), in the Estate House. They are open Tuesday to Saturday from 9.30 to 5.30 and Sundays and Bank Holidays from 10 to 4.00. There is parking around there (but not on site) but they also offer free local delivery. Their website will be live soon - alexandranurseries.co.uk

No, I'm not getting paid for this, just very impressed and I had a lovely chat with the owners!

Well done: you managed it! I shall be there at the weekend as I said and have every intention of taking several people with me. Yet ANOTHER fantastic development in our area!

I popped down today and was very impressed. John and Sarah are friendly, helpful and open to suggestions, they are going to buy a few highchairs and stock gluten free cake due to several requests.

The nurseries website isn't working yet, but the cottages one is:

It looks as though that little area of Penge is developing its own mini town forum!

I looked in briefly today, and it looks very nice.

It's the Penge East end of Parish Lane. You really can't miss it.

I've just been and it's great. I've only got a balcony, but there was plenty for me there!
I'll definitely be going back for afternoon tea sometime soon :)

We went in there last weekend, think they've done a really nice job of presenting it, nice idea with the coffee area.

Well worth a visit I'd say and lots of interesting plants, better than Homebase for picking up something different.

Another vote from me too, it's a lovely place. Popped in there the other week and picked up some really healthy looking herbs.

Will be going back to get a lavender plant soon, ran out of space in my bike panniers the last time.
