Networking event at Canvas and Cream 28 Mar

Just to let you know I'm hosting an informal business networking event at Canvas and Cream on London Road in Forest Hill Weds 28 Mar 6.30pm-8.30pm. It would be great to see some local businesses there. We're trialling the format at this event but may aim to hold other similar events around the Forest Hill and Sydenham area.

Thanks for organising this Louise. There were some very interesting people there, business owners, artists, architects, carpenters, PR…

Plus Canvas & Cream is amazing inside. What an incredible place and the food looked amazing. What a great space. It's a shame we aren't attracting this sort of business to Sydenham.

Please do another one and I hope more people on this forum join in. Somethings happening…

Cheers for the positive feedback Lee. It was a good start and hopefully we can grow something from there. At a later stage it might be nice to do something in Sydenham one month and Forest Hill the next month, because believe it or not the areas aren't mutually exclusive ;o)

There are a lot of fantastic creative folk in the area and tons of interesting businesses. I'd love for this networking group to become a hub where we can all come together in a relaxed environment, where new ideas and relationships can be fostered, and it be a platform for folk to talk about their projects and get feedback. I don't mean to get all 'I have a dream...' but you get the point.

At a time when a few folk have come together to support the Sydenham, Forest Hill, Kirkdale Village bid for the Portas Pilot Fund it would be a shame to lose the momentum. Hopefully we can come together and do good things for local businesses and in turn our high street whether or not we get the funding.

Working on a date for the next event. I'll keep you all posted.
