Billings - I salute you

Post by Nigel »

We have appreciated having Billings since it opened - first as a welcome fishmonger in Sydenham , then a really good butcher on our doorstep - we still appreciate not having to schlepp to East Dulwich or worse to buy good meat.
Anyway , in my humble estimation , I believe they have now achieved National Centre of Excellence status in the field of ham . By this I do not intend to diminish their sausages, fishcakes, seafood, joints of meat or pork pies (I don't have a Homer Simpson font otherwise I would use it here) but the ham is exceptional and I feel it is a civic duty to draw attention to it.

To top it all they a really nice people . If there is Bafta for for best ham (no, Mr Neeson) or best supporting pork pie , then Amo and his team at Billings will get my nomination.
A very good evening to you all

Yes, Nigel, hooray for the ham! The Ham is the business, you're correct, I have some in my sandwiches today along with some farmhouse chutney from there. I can't wait for lunch.

They're also going to start doing a version of Parma ham which G-Lady and I are very much looking forward to.

I get fish in there every week. Such a BRILLIANT shop. So, so good for Sydenham. They have set a standard of excellence for our high street.
