Taking the Y out of DIY

Post by Tim Lund »

Any recommendations? The guy I had who'd come round once a year to do a list of jobs to help keep my house in good repair now lives the other side of London. Or are there informal networks of tradesmen (or women) with different special skills who can recommend each other for particular jobs, like rewiring, replacing tiles, carpentry - which are on this year's list. Or a property maintenance company whose business model is to take the Y out of DIY, for those of us with no pretensions in this direction?

Hi Tim,

My husband is a painter & decorator/handyman, and if he can't do any of the jobs on your list, he would be able to let you have the details of someone who can help. His name is Fredi and his number is 07721 770 292.

I've used the MyBuilder website to find local tradesmen with great success.
