Lost black cat in Silverdale

Post by tizzyness »

My neighbour hasn't seen her cat since yesterday morning. He's an almost totally black cat, muscley and quite large, but extremely friendly. He answers to the name of Lungeus (or Lungey for short).

We think that someone may have taken a shine to him, or he's stuck in a shed or garage. He doesn't normally stray too far away. Unfortunately (rightly or wrongly) he isn't wearing a collar.

He lives on Silverdale, near the Paddock Wood estate. Please do let me know if you see him at all. Having cats of my own I can understand how upset she must be.

Thanks in advance

Hi I can't offer anything recently I'm afraid. There was an all-black cat that used to wander about up the top end of Silverdale near the station a couple of years ago maybe, I can't remember and I don't know where Paddock Wood estate is. If it's the same cat - and I guess there aren't too many black cats - then it must know its way around, albeit it could be older and less agile now. Clearly, if I see it... Hope Lungey arrives home safely. Hug to owner.

Hi again. I've just seen the black cat I mentioned earlier. It's Tuesday lunchtime, 12.50. It was in the same place as before and it disappeared onto Lyric Mews so I didn't get chance to see if it was wearing a collar. It might be a different cat altogether. If Lungey is still missing, hopefully not, could put a notice on a nearby lamppost maybe. Lyric Mews is the last turning on the left on Silverdale before the high street.

It could be my little one that you see mosy (she doesn't wear a collar (kept coming home without them - but she is microchipped), but then again it could be another one...

To the owner: It is so worrying not knowing where your cat has got to. I really do hope that he turns up safe and well.

All the best.

Cathy, thanks for clarifying.

I'm very sorry if I gave false hope. Fingers still crossed.

It was sitting happily on top of our compost bin this morning. Grow Mayow Community Garden.
I will look out for it tommorow again! Come and see us tommorow Mayow park behind the pavilion.
We also have a couple of Pheasants in the garden. Hopefully not escaped from someones Christmas diner?

Re: Lost black cat in Silverdale FOUND!

Post by tizzyness »

Thankfully the little man has been found! A bit skinny, but otherwise ok. I believe he was trapped in the cellar of someone who was away for a while, along with another cat! Although how he got in there I don't know.

Anyway, needless to say my neighbour is delighted and relieved (me too). Thank you to everyone who read the post, kept an eye out and checked their sheds, garages etc. Particular thanks to Mosy & Cathy :D You've restored a little of my faith in the idea of "community" in old Sydders.

Cheers

I am so pleased (Yay, high five) as I am sure Cathy will be to read that Lungey is now safely back home.

Not forgetting Iris's post.
