Payless closed - Kirkdale
Hi all,
Does anyone know what's happened at Payless? It seems to have been closed since yesterday afternoon and there were police vans outside.
I hope everything's ok? It's not like them to close up shop for that long.

Finally! the council have done something about all the rubbish they leave on the pavement????!!!!

Am I to understand that you are not a fan of this purveyor of fine produce.
Re: Payless closed - Kirkdale
Shame if true, it is the only walked-by shop for upper sydenhammers / lawrie park triangle residents leaving the train station. The Sainsbury's will surely kill it off when that opens though.

I just don't like the run down look of the rubbish they pile up out the front.Am I to understand that you are not a fan of this purveyor of fine produce.
Also when my daughter used her credit card there,£1600 went missing,
now I'm not suggesting it was them but, she hadn't used it anywhere else for a few days before,so draw your own conclusions.

Where is Sainsburys opening up?
Re: Payless closed - Kirkdale
On rubbish, shops are meant to put it out at collections times aren't they? Or at least that's what I understand in Syd high street. Is it different at the top end of Kirkdale? Otherwise , if they are conforming, not sure what else (like any shop) they'd be supposed to do?
The blue bags et all along Syd high street are hardly pretty, but are collected at appointed time. What's different up top end of Kirkdale? Just asking is all.

Mosy,
I'm not being picky pointing out their rubbish,
anyone who has rubbish piled up near the lamp-post /street bin should be told about it,especially on non bin collection days.
The blue bags are totally different, are they not for the leaves/street cleaners?
obviously you don't live up "this end"

Could be connected to Annie's daughter's credit card.

Where and when is a Sainsburys opening please?
Re: Payless closed - Kirkdale
Retail store in new development around The Greyhound. Probably a Sainsburys Local.
That's what everyone is saying will be there anyway.

It's not just rubbish from the shops. Flats above shops without a bin store also have rubbish collected on a regular basis. In theory, household waste should be placed in orange plastic bags available from the council and left on the kerbside no more than one hour before specified one hour collection periods (three daily on Monday to Saturday and twice daily on a Sunday). In reality, the bags are a nightmare to get hold of and people don't always respect the specified times.mosy wrote:On rubbish, shops are meant to put it out at collections times aren't they? Just to complicate things, since the Girton Road recycling facilities were removed, flats above shops also have a weekly recycling collection (clear plastic bags). Sadly the recycling bags are often missed by the collection teams, and aren't collected until the missed collection is reported to the council...
See article on Hexagon Housing Association's website for a reference to Sainsbury's taking a unit in the Greyhound development: http://www.hexagon.org.uk/content/577/a ... -dogs.aspxJeeBee wrote:Retail store in new development around The Greyhound. Probably a Sainsburys Local.

Thankfully the bank paid it back into her account, but she had tp cancel the card and wait for a new one etc so it was all a bit inconvenient.
