Recommend a painter/decorator?

Post by alywin »

Can anyone here, please? I'm probably looking for a sole trader, below the VAT threshold, who'll do a decent job, charge a reasonable rate, and someone I can feel confident that if I leave them alone in the house they're not going to steal the family silver or anything (no, I haven't actually got any, but you know what I mean :) ). My old one's retired, and the other one I tried is booked up months ahead (which probably means he's good, but I need this doing fairly quickly).

Equally, if you've used someone who was so awful you'd like to warn me off, then please do, but I assume that'll be by PM rather than on the forum. Loads of people put pieces of paper through doors, but of course I've no guarantee that they're any good.

I would recommend Glen Law of Trewsbury Road (tel no. 0208 7784112).

Hi,

My husband is a painter & decorator who does a lot of work in the area. He has a lot of reviews over on Virtual Norwood if you want to check him out http://www.virtualnorwood.com/forum/top ... ge__st__60

Whatever you do, do not go to Wickes/B&Q etc and pick up a workman from there. I know someone who has recently learnt this the hard way
