Time Brasil (pronounced Team Brazil) has chosen the refurbished National Sports Centre in Crystal Palace Park as its Olympic Training Camp for 2012.
The athletes will move into the Athletes' Lodge and the houses within the park between 7 - 10 July next year in order to acclimatise before their events in the Olympic Park. From the NSC they will move into Brazil's allocated accommodation within the Olympic Village a day or so before their own event, compete, and return to stay in Crystal Palace Park until the closing ceremony - a period of between 4/5 weeks overall.
There should be considerable media attention on Time Brasil as Brazil has won the right to hold the 2016 Olympics.
Great news for this area of South London!

Having recently moved away from the area *sobs* my husband is going to be gutted at missing out on the beach volleyball competitors who'll no doubt be strolling down Penge High street in their skimpies..
