Oyster Card

Post by sophie »

Hi all. Just wondering if anyone can give me a definitive answer as looking it up on the website became too confusing. Does anyone know how much a single journey from Sydenham Station to Heathrow Airport, using the overground and tube services only, would cost with an oyster card? Many thanks.

Sophie,

Your route is bit of a long way. If it is not too inconvenient for you I suggest:

1. Sydenham Hill (rail) to London Victoria (15 mins, offpeak Oyster fare I think £2.50)
2. District Line to Hammersmith then change for Piccadilly Line to LHR (offpeak Oyster fare £2.70) This journey is approx 50 mins.

At Hammesmith Stn the District and Piccadilly Lines are on the same platform level. You get out of the District Line and 3 metres away is the other side of the platform for the Piccadilly Line and there is no need to use stairs or escalators.

Thanks for that. I was looking for cheapest possible Oyster route from Sydenham but will bear in mind the tip for future about fewer stairs etc.

£2.70 off-peak to Terminal 4 (you didn't specify which Terminal, and it may make a difference)
