Halloween adventure

Post by Juwlz »

Anyone interested in a Halloween adventure? I know its a tuesday and so not very fun-tastic for most people, but PM me if you're interested.

By the way - kids welcome too. But let me know cos it might alter the plan slightly.

Lack of hair? I wouldn't have thought if they were male they'd have worried about hair removal given how they've let the rest of their body go.

Unless it's you The Eagle? If so, no offence

You guys remind me how boring I am... I don't even find that picture funny... It will do me good to come along to this Halloween Adventure I'm sure--count me in! :) I used to do all my Trick or Treating down Gillingham, Kent--never Sydenham--but that's another story. BTW, in case you're not aware, there's a fair happening at Crystal Palace, although I don't think I'm fit enough to go on any of the rides. :(

Also, I think the Crystal Palace Fireworks display might be on the 30th of November to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Crystal Palace fire.

Unfortunately, the funfair is finishing tomorrow, so won't be there on Halloween. However, I got news today from Karen that the fireworks display on Nov 30th is confirmed and set to be the biggest of all-time with about 15,000 people predicted to attend! Included, will be a giant TV screen showing exclusive rare footage of the palace!! Afterwards, there will be a talk on the Palace at the Salvation Army hall by Ian Bevan. The fireworks display is free, but the talk is £5 entrance fee.

Due to high demand for the halloween adventure- bringing a pumpkin lantern is now compulsory for anyone else wanting to come along. Just to give enough notice to anyone thinking of joining in last minute.

The plan is to start and finish at the Dulwich Woodhouse. The time is set for 8 oclock, but if this doesn't suit anyone let me know.
see you there!

Take a trip down Sydenham Road after school, Leaf, with your three little ghouls dressed up for Hallowee'n and you will find there are a number of shops which will welcome your little ghouls tricking and treating. Start at Kirkdale Bookshop and look out for the logo!

You guys don't know what you missed! I live further away than most and was a bit apprehensive about attending this event, as I envisaged it being rather dull--especially for somebody with a boring personality like mysef. However, rather than being negative, I decided to be positive for a change; we only regret things we never try. I am glad I went, as I was pleasantly surprised; it was much much better than I ever expected it to be! Julia--young at heart--went to a lot of trouble and effort to organise this event; she bought all the stuff and arranged it all herself, so shame on those who never turned up. You missed a great opportunity.* Even Julia wasn't sure how it would turn out, but thanks to her wonderful creative and imaginative personality, it turned out to be very special and something to remember. I feel kind of guilty, as I think I should have made more effort in some way or another. I did ask Julia if she would be bringing a costume, but she said no, so I didn't bring one myself. We first met at the Dulwich Wood House--only Julia's personal friends/colleagues turned up--and there she was wearing a Witch's costume! :P Julia's enthusiasm is really something... puts the rest of us to shame.

Here's some video clips I managed to take with my camera on it's last mission (it broke after leaving the tunnel  ).

*That may have been the last time we are able to have a gathering inside the tunnel. Earlier today, Juwlz came across two LCC men at the tunnel dressed in navy-blue, taking notes and saying the tunnel will be boarded up again because they think it's too dangerous; although, from what I gather, they failed to properly explain why. Atleast we finished in style on Halloween!
