Blackheath Hockey and Catford & Cyphers Cricket Club

Although you might think Blackheath is not in Sydenham you are right, but being this joint club is just off Perry Vale almost behind Savacentre, I felt it is close enough to make people aware what this community based Sports & Social club has to offer.

I have already done another thread about cricket, so would like to make you aware that sitting just around the corner of Sydenham tucked away is also Home to the Blackheath Hockey Club that was founded in 1861 and is the oldest known hockey club.

We have a thriving social membership too, which thanks to Rob and Margaret that manage our bar offer the community other entertainments. Live Jazz nights on Saturday evenings, and Blues Nights alternate Friday evenings and other social events for all members.

Last year we hosted the Lewisham District youth cricket games.

We have connections with Lewisham schools & sports club development and hosted some multisports days down at the ground organised by Lewisham council

The last couple of years we have been the home ground of the Hillyfielders Junior football club.

We also have a hall and grounds that we would like to utilise more for the community as a whole, midweek daytimes hire during the summer or winter so if you are a group looked for home in nice surrounding.
