weird repeating "pip" sound on dartmouth road

Anyone else notice this recently (ie the last couple of weeks)?

Sounds like some sort of alarm malfunction - really loud "pip" sound every 20 seconds or so.

loudest at the Kirkdale end of Dartmouth Road - Although I can still hear it all the way down to the High School.

It's driving me mad!!!

Yes I hear it. Sounds like a bird until you realise it goes on and on in a repeat pattern. Must be an alarm gone wrong.

Can you hear it all the time? We occasionally hear an irregularly repeated noise like a very loud car horn from Sydenham Girls' School on Kirkdale, but I've always assumed it's something to do with their games lessons; we never hear it outside school hours.

We hear something similar from Forest Hill School - again, usually during school hours, but occasionally outside school hours if their PA system is on the blink (which happens more often than you might think).
