Sydenham article in The Times today
Did anyone else see the article about Sydenham in The Times today? P.6 of Bricks and Mortar. Mainly focuses on house prices on cator Road but good publicity for the area (mentions all the up and coming bits like The Dolphin, fishmongers, Kente etc)
May persuade a few new businesses to reconsider the area...
Have posted the link buy you need to register because of the paywall so not so helpful

Yes, I just spluttered my tea over the paper. Full page article about how Sydenham is primed for a boom. Someone should forward the link to Waitrose.

I to was surprised to see the article. It is a lovely road but , as far as I know , mainly in
BR3 ( Beckenham ) not SE26 .

Re: Sydenham article in The Times today
It's actually two roads, Trewsbury Road (at the Sydenham end) up to the junction with Woodbastwick Road, and Cator Road from there to the junction with Lennard Road. Cator Road itself is officially over the border. However, if you live on Cator Road your nearest amenities are in Sydenham Road, which is why the article concentrated on Sydenham rather than Beckenham.
CORRECTION- apparently Cator Road is in Sydenham, even though it's officially in LB Bromley.

This article is great publicity and should (fingers crossed) put Sydenham firmly on the map. Many buyers new to the area are still completely unaware of the London Overground opening here and this should finally ram it home.
Surely we qualify for a Waitrose now !

I echo the comments made in another thread on this subject:

Just so as to redress some of the frustration at Murdochs new virtual portcullis, but not to distract from the OP's thread.

Lifted from Private Eye's Streets of Shame:
Ha bloody ha!And lo, the paywall on the Times and Sunday Times websites came to pass. Not, as predicted by News International, in May, nor June, but instead upon that red letter day that is Friday 2 July.
And very effective it is, too. So effective, in fact, that even staff on the Times found themselves unable to access the website from their own office free of charge. A plan to issue vouchers giving free access to all employees had been forgotten, and hacks arriving for the early shift on launch day were forced to get out their credit cards and laboriously set up direct debits before they could actually get on to the website to update it.

The Times? Don't bother. Murdoch certainly craves your custom. Don't give in to temptation.

Could someone with access cut and paste it?

Cator Road is indeed in SE26 as far as the Post Office is concerned. However, as it is in the Bromley Ward of Penge & Cator we have now officially annexed it to Penge!rshdunlop wrote:CORRECTION- apparently Cator Road is in Sydenham, even though it's officially in LB Bromley.
