I can't really comment on the staffs' temperament, or how far out of their way they go to help customers. As I make a point of buzzing in and out of all supermarkets.
Though one thing I will say in Co-op's favour: is that their pizzas are fantastic. Far better than anything you'll find in either Sainsbury's, Tesco and - dare I say it - Waitrose.
